Fair Labor Standards Act overtime rule change presentation available online

In May 2016, the U.S. Department of Labor released information detailing changes to federal overtime regulations. These changes were discussed briefly during the Board of Regents meeting in July. Human resources has prepared a short presentation providing an overview of regulation changes.

Specifically, the presentation reviews how the regulation change came about, the basics of the Fair Labor Standards Act and specific changes, which may impact SFA faculty and staff members, how SFA plans to implement these changes and what can be expected in the near future.
The presentation is less than 10 minutes and is intended for any SFA faculty or staff member interested in learning more about the rule change. To view the presentation, log in to myTraining and click on the FLSA Overview for Employees featured training on the home page. Employees also can access myTraining through the Employee tab on mySFA.

For more information, call human resources at (936) 468-2304.
