A word about the SFA Logo

The Board of Regents has approved a purple-only version of the traditional SFA “spirit” logo for use by the university faculty, staff and student body. The two-color (red and purple) logo that previously was in use by SFA is no longer approved and should not appear on future university publications, websites, emails or other communications.

The approved logo is available for download from the University Marketing Communications website.  A black version also is available, but its use should be restricted to black-and-white publications.  Click “Downloads” on the left side of the page to access the SFA logo and other approved university marks. SFA-themed PowerPoint templates also are available on the site. The low-resolution image above can be saved to your computer for use in email signatures.

Ladyjacks complete comeback, down ULM 3-2

The SFA Ladyjack volleyball team picked up its first win of the 2014 season inside Shelton Gym in dramatic fashion, rallying from a 2-0 deficit to edge Louisiana — Monroe out with a score of 3-2 on Wednesday night.

“After going down 2-0, we made the switch from the 6-2 to the 5-1, and that is what was able to turn the match in our favor and I think will ultimately be the turning point in our season,” head coach Debbie Humphreys said. “We needed ball control, passing and defense, and switching into the 5-1 allows us to do that. It allows us to use Madison Martin and Lexus Cain, who are two of the top passing defenders in the conference. The 5-1 also allows us to use OJ Olson, our libero, and that proved to be more important than having a bigger block tonight.”

Junior Keeley Kainer and senior Jill Ivy each recorded 11 kills for SFA (3-5), with Kainer commanding a .476 attack percentage. The Ladyjacks posted a .203 clip on the night, while limiting the Warhawks (2-6) to just a .069 attack efficiency across five sets.

The Associate Press compiled a great story and slideshow to commemorate the events of this day 13 years ago.

A special thanks today to all who serve our country and the public interest, and who've given everything they had to protect, serve and help others.
