University-wide session to take place tomorrow, venue changed

All faculty and staff members are invited to attend the third university-wide session discussing “The Undergraduate Experience,” the selected campus reading, at 3 p.m. tomorrow in the Baker Pattillo Student Center Twilight Ballroom. The session will end by 5 p.m.

The session will aim to identify the book's most useful ideas and convert them into concrete, achievable initiatives for SFA. Sessions will not be re-discussions of the book, but instead will culminate in tangible suggestions to help the university improve.

Tomorrow's session will discuss chapters five through seven. Attendees are encouraged but not required to come prepared with concrete proposals for increasing coordination between parts of the undergraduate experience (chapter five),  developing assessments that result in real improvement (chapter six), and encouraging leadership at all levels from students, faculty and staff members, to vice presidents, presidents and regents (chapter seven).

Attendance is voluntary, but preregistration is preferred. To register, complete this form.

Soccer announces spring 2017 game schedule

SFA’s soccer team announced its spring schedule Monday with four game dates occurring this semester.

“We are really excited about this spring schedule and the opportunity to take the field against three great teams to measure ourselves and help put a plan in place to improve as we head into a 2017 season with very high expectations,” soccer head coach Wally Crittenden said. “This returning group will have the opportunity to get the 2017 season headed in the right direction this spring with their commitment to high competitive standards in training and in match play. With the challenges that await this group in the next couple of months, I have no doubt we will be in a great position to welcome our new players in August with a good plan of who we are going to be in the fall.”
